CAROUSEL FOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS
The GVTSSP are trying to create an 'alternative carousel of equipment' in the hope of engaging older pupils in physical activities. We are looking to add to our list of Zig Zag Dance Mats, Trixter Bikes and Concept 2 Rowers. The equipment moves from school to school every half term - but we need more ideas to build on what we already have. Why not sign our guest book and let us know your thoughts? GIPPY AND ALI COLOURING BOOK
Gippy and Ali have created a 32 page colouring book which is on sale now for only £1.75 (cheques made payable to Stowmarket High School - please remember to include your name and address). The A5 book contains cartoon images of our mascots taking part in a variety of sports.

SPORT UNLIMITED
Are you a provider (e.g. school, community sports club, uniform group) willing to arrange introductory sports courses of 8 weeks, 1-2 hours in duration for pupils? If so funding is available to cover a wide range of aspects (e.g. coaching costs, venue hire etc). Projects currently running in our area include golf at Stowmarket and Diss Golf Clubs, skiing at the dry slopes in Ipswich and rugby at Bury Rugby Club. PLT CONFERENCE 09
Our second annual Primary Link Teacher (PLT) conference took place at David Lloyds in Ipswich. A great attendance saw a fully packed day which included homework bag, quicksticks, quadkids and high 5's workshops. In addition to this time was set aside to review PESSYP data and share good practice. Special thanks to three of our PLTs; Anna Boyden, Lisa Tweed and Amanda Brydon, who all presented on the day.

CHILDRENS WEIGHT MANAGEMENT TEAM
The Children's Weight Management Team is a new service that is being piloted across Suffolk to try to address the increasing prevalence of childhood obesity.They are a multidisciplinary team including a dietitian and physical activity advisor who will work with overweight children, young people and their families to achieve and maintain a healthy weight through positive lifestyle choices.
